Mother's Day at ABC Challenges

The challenge this week at ABC Challenges is Mother's Day Cards.

Pop on over to the blog and see the gorgeous Design Team Mother's Day cards.  We look forward to seeing your cards entered in the challenge!

I had a little inspiration for this card - I had a look through the Waltzingmouse Stamps CASE competition cards and I just loved the soft feel of this card by Meredith MacRitchie, especially the soft orange.

I started by stamping a houndstooth background with Hero Arts Soft sand, then used a Waltzingmouse Stamps stamp with Hero Arts Poppy ink.  A Spellbinders edge die was used to cut one side of the card and faux silk ribbon and pearl embellishments from The Ribbon Girl finished off the card, together with a computer made sentiment.

Recycle Challenge at ABC Challenges

We have a really fun challenge for you at ABC Challenges this week to mark Earth Day.  It's something crafters are really good at: use something recycled!  I think once you start papercrafting everything around you gets looked at for crafting possibilities LOL.

The backing paper on my card is actually wrapping paper that was snatched away from my daughter as soon as she had opened her present,  I just loved it.  I inked the edges and stuck it down, then used a Waltzingmouse Vintage Labels 18 which matches Spellbinders Labels 18, and added a Hero Arts sentiment.  The tissue flower was made from the lovely pink tissue that comes wrapped around orders from The Ribbon Girl.  I cut several layers from Tim Holtz Tattered Florals then scrunched  the layers before inking.  The pearl button and the other two flowers are from The Ribbon Girl

So now's your chance to use those items you've been hoarding and keep meaning to use on a card and enter them at ABC Challenges - hope to see you there!

Crafty Bloggers Network Inspiration Cards

Good morning, sorry I've been missing.  My PC is playing up and I've been working off a laptop which I'm not good with, and I can't edit my photos as good as I would like.

I have a couple of Design Team cards for you using an image from our sponsor Rick St Dennis - Isabella Sunny Days.

The first was printed onto Kraft before colouring with Inktense pencils and water:

The second one was coloured with Spectrum Noirs:

There's still time to join us this month at Crafty Bloggers Network so I hope to see your cards there!

Back shortly with another card. Ger x

Good morning! Time for another challenge at ABC Challenges and this time's it's easy as 1-2-3. Just tell us what you've used, for example 1 image, 2 buttons, 3 patterned papers, you get the idea.

My card has one background stamp (Hero Arts Envelope Pattern) white embossed and inked with two Distress Inks (Wild Honey and Broken China).  the same two inks were used on the flowers and through the die for the sentiment.  I used three dies altogether.

Colour Challenge at ABC Challenges

We took a little break for Easter last week over at ABC challenges but we're back this week with another challenge and this time it's colour - Blue, Pink and Green.

My card uses a Creative Expressions embossed background and some Memory Box dies. I coloured the cardstock with ink before cutting, except for the flower die which I coloured afterwards with Inktense pencils and water.  I covered the heart in glossy accents for shine, then decided to sprinkle glitter on top.

The buttons were a present from the lovely Linda W, part of my prize package from her scramble, thanks Linda!

Hoping to see your cards over at ABC Challenges this week! Ger x
