Work in Progress - mini book

I'm new to mini books but I'm having a lot of fun.  I'm following Felicia's Tutorial and all the pages and covers are ready and decorated although I'm still moving things around on the cover - stuff isn't stuck down yet and no doubt I will embellish some more.  Because of the green beads in the image I added one of my own green beads to a string of chain and charms cut off a cheap Penneys necklace.  The paper clips were a pound shop buy, and some of the ribbons have been coloured with Distress Stains.

I really don't want to do scrapbooking -although it's fun to admire other people's layouts, the 12 x 12 thing is too much for me and huge to store.  This mini book thing is much more manageable.  I could get hooked!  I chose Tim Holtz Crowded Attic 12 x 12s after seeing someone else using them.  I will fill the book with old photos from my parents' stash, the papers are perfect for this.

After seeing the Bind it All in action I really don't want to bind this book with ribbon. Guess what's on my wishlist .....

My daughter's debs is this summer and I'm already planning bright and pretty papers for a mini book to hold photos from that occasion.  Then there's my friend's wedding next month.  Am I getting close to justifying the cost of a Bind it All LOL?

Echo Park Thankyou

Morning! Just a quick share this morning but I might be back later if I get peace to do some crafting.

This is another card I made on Saturday.  I used Echo Park Country Drive papers, a computer generated sentiment (I print a sheet of the same sentiment at a time and keep them ready to cut) and the ribbon I think is Doodlebug.

Back to rain this morning - the photo was taken while the sun was still shining!

Crafting Ireland crop

I had a great time at the Crafting Ireland crop on Saturday but I hadn't prepped for the Mini Book class and was I sorry!  The rest produced gorgeous little albums and bound them on a Bind-it-All.

However Felicia has put the tutorial up on her blog and I spent this morning cutting and sticking the covers, pages and tabs.  I'm so looking forward to the fun part of choosing papers and decorating the book.

So while they were all busy working on their albums I did a little Prima shopping at Kate Walsh's mobile shop and made this:

Prima Papers - Fairy Belle, Image - Papermania, Trim - Tim Holtz, some Prima bling, and a journal card from Prima - Meadow Park.

Boy First Communion

I think this is the last of this year's Communion cards.  I bought the embossed blue card as part of a Payper Box and bit the corners out with a 1" circle punch.  The chalice I drew freehand onto silver mirri and then ran through a Tim Holtz embossing folder.  The sentiment was computer generated then cut with Spellbinders Labels 22.  A two-hole office punch and silver mirri made the 'brads'.

I had a pretty girl's version in pink but had to give it away before I had a chance to take a photo.

I'm off for some crafting fun (and shopping!) tomorrow in Athlone.

Enjoy the fine weather!

Boy's 10th

I stamped Hero Arts clouds stamp in Soft Pool and made a pinwheel from Peppermint Crate Paper, added some paper for foreground and wrapped card around a cocktail stick, added an outline sticker Happy Birthday and a black brad for the centre of the pinwheel.
